Anticipated golf events to watch for in the upcoming months
We're rapidly approaching the end of 2024 (didn't time move fast?), which means that most of the year's major golf tournaments are history. However, we've still got a couple of majorly anticipated events scheduled to hit within the next few months. So, if you're an avid golf fan, you're in luck.
Below is a list of our most anticipated golfing events in the coming months. You’ll be able to watch most of these events broadcast online or on your favorite sports channel. Some fans will be eager to place their wagers on these upcoming events – and whether it’s a bet on a tournament winner or a head-to-head matchup, the online sports betting market has become a little complicated to navigate.
In a recent article for AskGamblers, Irena Ducic discusses one of the convoluted features: payment methods:
“With so many sportsbook payment options available, it has become imperative for online betting sites to offer their customers a possibility of choice and accept at least the most popular methods.”
But with any payment method used, some platforms will allow users to deposit then force the user to make a withdrawal using a different payment option. Irena goes on to list the sites that will accept deposits and withdrawals using the same payment method, so the article can double as a guide for those looking to make a wager on upcoming golfing events.
Let's jump in.
The Presidents Cup
From September 24-29, the Royal Montreal Golf Club will play host to the Presidents Cup, an all-male tournament that will pit an All-American team against an international team.
Now, it is almost a dead cert that the US team will win the tournament – they've won it nine times in a row. However, the Presidents Cup is still an awesome event to watch. There’s some great golfing on show, and it isn't like the international team doesn't give the Americans a run for their money. Many of the people who bet on this golfing event will be betting on the individual player's performances rather than how the tournament will end up.
Open de France
From October 10-13, the oldest golf tournament in continental Europe will be played – the Open de France. This is part of the DP World Tour.
While the Open de France isn't one of the most anticipated events on the whole golfing calendar, there isn't a whole lot happening in the latter part of the year, so the Open de France is easily able to attract some top players who put on a great show. This year, we already have the likes of Matthieu Pavon and Francesco Molinari confirmed, so we expect to be settling in for a good few days of awesome golfing action in the heart of France.
Black Desert Championship
Between October 9 and 13, the PGA Tour will be returning to Utah for the first time in a long while. The state is already celebrating. As with all PGA Tour events, expect there to be a lot of top golfing action happening throughout. However, we are most excited by the scenery. The Black Desert Championship is held in the heart of the desert. Dramatic cliffs and scenery are in the background of the course, and each shot that is taken will leave you wide-mouthed as you watch the ball sail through the air, past this awe-inspiring scenery.
This will be the first PGA Tour tournament in Utah since 1963, and we can't think of a better place than the Black Desert Resort in Greater Zion for this to happen. This is a must-watch event.
Australian PGA Championship
When the northern hemisphere starts to get cold, the southern hemisphere heats up. So, November 21 to 24 is when the PGA Tour will be rolling into Australia. This year's tournament will be held at the Royal Queensland Golf Club in Brisbane. It's a big-deal tournament, too, with over $2 million in prize money on the line.
There'll be a few golfers to keep an eye on during this tournament, but we suggest you spend much of your time watching Min Woo Lee. He’ll be there to defend his Australian PGA Championship title, and all indications are that he might succeed.
Bermuda Championship
From November 14-17, the Bermuda Championship will be held at Port Royal Golf Club. If you've ever watched a golf tournament at this golf club before, then you'll know exactly why we are excited – it’s a fantastic venue. Bermuda is a great place to hold a golf tournament in November. It’s hot, the seas are crystal clear and the skies are blue. A lot of top golfers are attracted to compete, too. This is why certain esports may never become as popular as traditional sports, no matter how much money is invested – you can’t enjoy sunshine indoors! We love how this tournament is so good for the local community, so we always make sure to tune in.
Australian Open
Australia has a couple of major tournaments happening in November, and the Australian Open is the second of them. This one will be happening from November 28 to December 1. Held on two courses on the Melbourne Sandbelt, the Australian Open not only promises quality golfing but also some amazingly picturesque views. Once again, Min Woo Lee is probably the favorite for this one, but who knows – there’s still a good chunk of time before the tournament, so the betting odds could change somewhat before then.
Pebble Beach Pro-Am
The most anticipated Pro-Am tournament of the year will be held from January 30 to February 2. The Pebble Beach Pro-Am not only takes place at one of the best golf clubs in the world but essentially kicks off the pro golfing calendar for the next year. This is a tournament that will almost certainly be broadcast on all major sports channels around the world, so you've got no excuse for not tuning in.
The Genesis Invitational
Finally, we've got the Genesis Invitational that happens from February 13-16 at the Riviera Country Club. We know it will be most people's pick for one of the top golfing events throughout the year, and we have always had a fun time tuning in to the Genesis Invitational. Right now, it's too soon to know exactly who will be playing at the tournament – we just know that there will be some quality golfing on display.
Dozens of other events
People have got it into their heads that the latter part of the year is devoid of any golf tournaments, but you've still got plenty. We have gone through those that we reckon the vast majority of people will be excited about, but we have barely scratched the surface. Head to your favorite gambling site and look at all the top golfing events coming up. Something is happening almost every single day throughout the year. There'll always be some top golfing to watch!
