Honkai: Star Rail Officially Reveals New Character Rappa for Version 2.6
Honkai: Star Rail has officially unveiled the long-anticipated character Rappa, who will make her debut in Version 2.6. Earlier leaks hinted at Rappa's appearance and abilities, but HoYoverse has now confirmed details about her rarity, path, and backstory.
As is customary with Honkai: Star Rail, the game begins its "drip marketing" campaign before each new update, teasing the characters set to debut in future versions. For instance, characters like Feixiao were revealed weeks before their official inclusion in Version 2.5, alongside newcomers Lingsha and Moze. While players eagerly await Version 2.6, the latest announcement confirms that Rappa will soon be joining the roster.
Rappa's Arrival and Abilities
Rappa will become a playable character in Version 2.6, which is expected to launch in October. According to the announcement, Rappa is a 5-star Imaginary-type character following the Path of Erudition, making her a specialist in dealing damage to multiple enemies. Notably, she will be the first Imaginary unit among the Erudition characters in the game. Rappa is a member of the Galaxy Rangers, a faction within the Honkai: Star Rail universe, which also includes Boothill, though their in-game relationship remains unclear.
Character Details and Abilities
Rappa is described as "a peculiar girl" who identifies herself as a ninja and is seen in Penacony pursuing a villain known as Evil Ninja Osaru. She has a distinct style, enjoying rapping, comics, and graffiti, which is reflected in her outfit—a red jacket, a cap with red horns, and ninja sandals, with a spray-paint can as part of her gear. Rappa's long pink hair is tied in a ponytail, adding to her unique look.
Earlier leaks suggested that Rappa's Ultimate ability grants her an extra turn and three enhanced basic attacks that deal AoE damage. Her technique is also notable, as it involves her surfing on her blade while rapping and leaving a graffiti trail. Upon entering combat, Rappa reduces all enemies' Toughness.
Potential Impact on Gameplay
Rappa's Toughness reduction ability may be linked to the new Feigned Toughness mechanic that is rumored to be introduced in Version 2.5. The current Break Effect meta has been dominant with characters like Firefly and the Harmony Trailblazer, but the introduction of Feigned Toughness could position Feixiao as the next major DPS character.
As Honkai: Star Rail approaches its 2.5 update, which will continue the Wardance Festival storyline in Xianzhou Luofu, players can look forward to the arrival of Rappa and the new dynamics she will bring to the game.
