The head of Xbox assures that there will be no more exclusive Call of Duty skins or timed content
The head of Xbox has revealed in an official Xbox podcast that they no longer intend to pursue the release of exclusive skins and temporary restrictions on content access, similar to what was practiced on PlayStation. This decision comes as Xbox takes firm control of the Call of Duty brand.
He emphasized, "For Call of Duty players on PlayStation and possibly, in the future, on Nintendo, I want you to feel like full-fledged members of our community. I don't want you to feel like you're missing out on anything, whether it's skins, content, or temporary restrictions. Our goal is to ensure equal rights on all platforms."
He also clarified, "We are not seeking to use Call of Duty as a means to sell Xbox consoles. We aim for the Call of Duty gaming community to feel fully supported on all available platforms."
This year, Microsoft and PlayStation reached an agreement guaranteeing access to Call of Duty on PlayStation after the acquisition of Activision Blizzard. Despite several high-ranking Microsoft employees testifying in court that the idea of making Call of Duty exclusive to Xbox was never considered, it remained a significant viewpoint from PlayStation's perspective.
