In an electrifying showdown, Heroic proved their prowess as a well-coordinated force, overpowering BIG and leaving the German-Polish lineup struggling to keep up .Mateusz "mantuu" Wilczewski's return to LAN play after a year-long absence was met with anticipation, and while his performance was commendable, it wasn't enough to turn the tides for his team.
The series kicked off with BIG taking an early lead thanks to Wilczewski's impressive three glock kills in the T-side pistol round. However, Heroic swiftly retaliated with a forcebuy in the second round, propelling them towards an undeniable victory. Jakob "jabbi" Nygaard's outstanding four-kill round, featuring two half-blind rifle frags, a knife kill, and an AWP headshot, set the tone for the half. Despite BIG's attempts at late-round attacks, they repeatedly faced insurmountable obstacles, leading to a commanding 10-5 half in favour of Heroic. The Danish squad had no trouble closing out the first map with a resounding 16-7 score.
Moving on to Inferno, Heroic continued their dominance, establishing an early advantage. They swiftly secured an 8-3 lead on the favoured attacking side, and although BIG managed to regain some ground, the half concluded with a close 8-7 scoreline. With the game within reach, BIG aimed to turn the tables, but a remarkable four-kill USP round by Rasmus "sjuush" Beck shifted the momentum in Heroic's favour. From there, Heroic displayed impeccable control, allowing BIG to win only a single round in the second half. They closed out the map with a commanding 16-8 victory, securing a convincing 2-0 series win.
Heroic's outstanding performance sets the stage for an exhilarating upper bracket semi-final scheduled for Sunday at 16:00. They will face either the revamped Natus Vincere, led by Aleksi "Aleksib" Virolainen, or their long-standing rivals Astralis, now featuring former Heroic rifler Johannes "b0RUP" Borup on their side.
