SOOP Set to Revolutionize Esports Streaming: Partners with Faker, DRX, and More for June Launch!
SOOP, an upcoming live-streaming platform, is set to launch globally on June 5th, boasting partnerships with high-profile figures and entities in the esports world, including League of Legends icon Lee ‘Faker’ Sang-hyeok and esports organization DRX.
Touted as a service crafted specifically for esports and gaming enthusiasts, SOOP will initially release its global beta in English, Thai, and Chinese, with both web and mobile applications for Android and Apple users. The platform is developed by the team responsible for AfreecaTV, a major Korean live-streaming service.
To enhance its content offerings, SOOP has formed alliances with a diverse range of personalities, game publishers, and tournament organizers. Notable esports figures such as Faker, DRX’s Byung-chul ‘BuZz’ Yu, three-time EVO Tekken champion Bae ‘Knee’ Jae-Min, former Overwatch champion Kim ‘EscA’ In-ja, and streamer ACAU, also known as ‘Crocodile’, will contribute content both on SOOP and AfreecaTV for Korean audiences.
In addition, popular Thai streamers like EDWIN, SuperBusS, and FifaTargrean will be streaming exclusively on SOOP, reinforcing its commitment to a robust content strategy.
SOOP has also secured exclusive partnerships to produce and broadcast significant esports events such as the VALORANT Challengers Thailand. It holds publishing and broadcasting rights in Thailand for the VALORANT Champions Tour and other tournaments.
Moreover, the platform promises a rich variety of content spanning music, gaming, and esports, including broadcasts from the AfreecaTV Global StarCraft II League (GSL).
SOOP is aiming to carve out a unique space for itself in the competitive live-streaming market by introducing innovative features. Creators on SOOP can manage multiple channels under a single account and use an integrated virtual streamer avatar creation tool developed in partnership with avatar developer MASCOZ. Additionally, a real-time live-stream translation feature is expected to be launched by the end of June, further enhancing accessibility and viewer engagement.
With its forthcoming launch, SOOP is positioned to challenge established players like Twitch in the global live-streaming arena, echoing the strategies of past platforms like Mixer, which also partnered with well-known gaming personalities to gain traction.
