Upcoming Natlan Updates in Genshin Impact: New Characters, Draconic Mounts, and Major Expansions Revealed
While the Fontaine era in Genshin Impact is coming to a close, recent leaks tease upcoming content and characters that will feature in the first few patches of Natlan. Since its launch, Natlan has been shrouded in mystery, even compared to endgame regions such as Snezhnaya and Khaenri'ah. However, this veil will lift in August 2024, and Genshin Impact players will be able to explore the Pyro Nation on draconic mounts, which will serve as the primary exploration mechanic for the region.
In terms of upcoming characters, Arlecchino's debut in Version 4.6 will be followed by Clorinde, Sethos, and Sigewinne, all set to release in Version 4.7. The next set of characters is expected in Version 5.0, which will feature a map expansion roughly the size of Sumeru from Version 3.1. The open-world experience in Natlan will have stronger narrative ties and will be inspired by Remuria and the Sea of Bygone Eras, which recently appeared in Genshin Impact Version 4.6.
Genshin Impact will release five limited 5-star characters in Versions 5.0, 5.1, and 5.2.
According to information from Uncle K, also posted by Team Mew on their Telegram channel, Natlan will feature two 5-star Catalyst characters and one 5-star Claymore character during the region's first three updates. Version 5.0 will introduce two new 5-star characters, while Versions 5.1 and 5.2 will each feature one 5-star release. While the exact characters are unknown, it can be assumed that Iansan, Xbalanque, and the Pyro Archon will be among them.
Some details about Xbalanque in Genshin Impact are already known, and Uncle K confirms that he is part of a long-lived race, adding credibility to rumors that he is the Dragon Sovereign of Natlan. Given that Klee is the only 5-star Pyro Catalyst character, it is possible that Xbalanque will follow in Neuvillette's footsteps as a Catalyst hypercarry, while the other could take a more off-field support role. According to the leak, new combat mechanics in Natlan will improve older characters who have fallen behind in the meta, such as Ayato and Shenhe, especially if the rumored level cap increase includes an Ascension Talent.
The Pyro Archon in Genshin Impact is described as a "big sister" type character and is most likely the Claymore character that will release in Version 5.2. Natlan has a considerable number of ruins, and both Capitano and Columbina are slated to appear as Fatui Harbingers operating in the region. Interestingly, Emilie has been pushed back to Natlan and will be released as an ATK-scaling off-field character. While it's too early to determine which upcoming Genshin Impact characters will be popular in the meta, the leak claims that the Pyro Archon is not an Event Banner to be skipped.
