ESL has made changes to the rules of their tournaments for the year 2024
ESL has updated its tournament rules for 2024, introducing the concept of conflicts of interest and their interpretation. According to section 2.12.1, players and team coaches are prohibited from having any financial interests in the success of other participants in the same competition. They must ensure that there are no conflicts of interest, including business connections, with any other participants.
This rule is further expanded in section 2.12.2, stating that no individual with control over an organization participating in the tournament can own shares or have financial ties with another similar organization. There are some exceptions for minimal or incidental involvements where financial gain doesn’t equate to the organization's success.
Additionally, players are now required to provide their settings and device drivers in advance. Failure to do so will result in them using default settings or manually configuring their PCs before the match begins.
