Unused content related to the anniversary of the game was found in the files of Dota 2

During the analysis of Dota 2 game files, data miners discovered unused material that was originally intended for inclusion in an anniversary treasure chest. Developers had planned to introduce a staff for Nature's Prophet in the form of the Scythe of Vyse.

This item was meant to feature a unique effect commemorating the anniversary. However, the reason behind Valve's decision to exclude it from the treasure chest remains unknown.

The mentioned item made its debut in Dota 2 as far back as 2013 and could be obtained by purchasing SteelSeries Siberia V2 Dota 2 Edition headphones. Currently, these headphones are no longer available for general sale.

The treasure chest dedicated to the game's anniversary was added to Dota 2 on the night of August 18th. Players will have the opportunity to earn these chests through victories until September 7th, 2023.
